CZEKALA: Oliver "Oli" Czekala passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2011. Oliver was born on May 7, 1969 in Mehlingen, Germany. As a young boy growing up, he spent lots of time fishing with his dad and also camping and going on holiday's with his parents. He was also on a bowling league in Germany. Oliver graduated from high school in Germany in 1984 and following high school, he went to a trades school where he graduated with a Carpentry Diploma in 1987. Following school, he enlisted in the German Army in 1991 and came over to Canada with the German Army in 1993, stationed at Shilo. Oliver left the army in 1994. His daughter Racheal was born in January 1995. Oliver later went to work at Ora Dental in 1995 until the time of his passing. In the many years he worked there, he made many good friends. Oliver liked spending time with his two best friends in Canada Fred and Deiter. The three of them enjoyed going to the German Restaurant to have a cold beer and a Schnitzel. This is where Oliver and Michelle met. In 2004, their son Matthias was born. Oliver and Michelle were married and became a united family in June of 2005. In April of 2006, they travelled to Germany to meet and visit with his family. They spent this time seeing his beautiful country, by going to castles and going on the Rhine River. In April of 2007, their second son Jayden was born. In 2009, Oliver's brother and wife came to visit us and we got to show them where we lived in Canada. Oliver enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed hosting BBQ's at their home, spending time on his computer gaming with Fred or Tory, golfing with the guys, watching the demo derby at the fair, going for walks or to playtime with the little boys. He also loved spending time with his wife after the boys went to bed watching their favorite shows together. Oliver is survived by his wife Michelle; son Tory; daughter Racheal; son Matthias; and son Jayden. He is also survived by his brother Gottfried (Silvia), sister Inga in Germany and father and mother in law Randy and Karen Jay and brother-in-law Michael (Jodi) Jay. As well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins in both Canada and Germany. Oliver was predeceased by: his father Adalbert Czekala; mother Ruth Czekala; and brother-in-law Berhard Bohm.
