DERKSEN: It is with great sadness the family of Verna Derksen, beloved wife of Peter and dear mother of Steve (Rhonda) and Lori, and grandmother of Dawson and Samantha, announce her passing on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. A celebration of Verna's life will be held at Bethel Christian Assembly, 440 Richmond Avenue, Brandon, on Thursday, November 3. 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Her brother John Balzer will officiate. Viewing will take place prior to the service. Interment will follow at Alexander Cemetery with a reception at Richmond Park Mennonite Brethren Church. Samaritan's Purse was close to Verna's heart and the family would appreciate a contribution or shoebox was donated in her memory. Complete obituary information will follow.
