SCHWARTZ: Lilly Ella of Brandon, Manitoba went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 31, 2011 at the age of 88 years. Lilly was born on October 14, 1923 in Morden, Manitoba, the third child of Alex and Augusta Shareski.Lilly met Adam Schwartz and was married on February 12, 1944 and were involved within the church for their entire lives. They began their married life together on a farm in Deloraine, Manitoba for 25 years. Lillys father donated the land to establish Turtle Mountain Bible Camp for which Lilly donated many hours and years of her time and her skill as a cook. Lilly was the mother of four children; Barbara, David, Karen and Cathy who were all born in Deloraine, Manitoba. Lilly and Adam moved to the city of Brandon, Manitoba in 1970. In the city, Lilly was able to have her own career working at Woolco in charge of the pet department, running one of the most successful departments. She was a Sunday School Teacher and participated in Pioneer Girls and hosted many McDiarmid Alliance Youth Groups. Adam andLilly traveled to Germany, New York and Pheonix, Arizona. Lilly spent time with her children and grandchildren who lived in Brandon as well as Calgary and Nanaimo. Her eldest daughter Barb stayed in Brandon, so Lilly was able to participate in the lives of these two great grandchildren. She also has three other great grandchildren; two live in Calgary and one in Nanaimo. Lilly was predeceased by her husband Adam (2009), her daughter Barbara (2011) and her granddaughter Angelia (2004). She leaves to mourn her passing: her son David (Ollie) Schwartz, her daughter Karen (Keith) Buechler, her daughter Cathy (Rick) Petrinack, her son-in-law Harvey Paterson, her grandson Rod (Lana) Paterson; granddaughter Wendy Richardson, grandson Jason Schwartz (fiancé Kate), grandson Ryan (Jolene) Schwartz, grandson Chris (Laura) Buechler, granddaughter Melissa Petrinack, great grandson Riley Richardson, great granddaughter Savannah Richardson, great granddaughter Ava Schwartz, great granddaughter Kylie Schwartz and great granddaughter Gwendolyn Buechler as well as siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews. A time of viewing will be held at Memories Chapel, 330 18th Street North on Thursday, November 3, 2011 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Service Celebrating Lillys Life will be held at McDiarmid Drive Alliance Church, 635 McDiarmid Drive, on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Dan Pope will officiate. Interment will follow in the Brandon Cemetery. Donations in memory of Lilly may be made to the Turtle Mountain Bible Camp, Box 1198, Boissevain, Manitoba, R0K 0E0.
