HARGREAVES: Florence (nee McIntyre) born May 6, 1927 - passed away at her residence at Dinsdale Personnel Care Home on Sunday October 23, 2011 at the age of 84. Florence was predeceased by her husband William Hargreaves. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Bev (Roland), sons Colin (Shelly), Ken (Shirley) and daughter Karen. She is blessed with seven grandchildren Jacqueline and Julie Beaulieu, Brett (Haylee), Dustin and Lindsay Hargreaves, Kelsey and Heidi Hargreaves and three great grandchildren Dalyce, Lane and Abby Hargreaves who all lovingly know her as "Nana." Florence was born in Stenen, Saskatchewan near Preaceville. When she finished school, she moved to Brandon where she had various jobs such as egg grading, secretarial work and bookkeeping. She met William "Bill" Hargreaves who owned a grain and dairy farm in the Brandon Hills district south of Brandon. They were married October 20, 1951 and lived in the community for twelve years. She belonged to the local ladies group, was a 4-H leader and was involved in the community. They moved into town in 1963 because of Bill's declining health. She volunteered for many years at the BRHA delivering flowers. She and Bill liked to travel, play golf, and visit family and friends. Through the years, Florence has knit many sweaters and sent care packages of cinnamon buns and cookies to her family. She loved to keep in touch and learn of all their activities. She was a hard worker and special lady and will be greatly missed. A celebration of Florence's life was held on Saturday, October 29, 2011. A private family interment was held at the Brandon Hills Cemetery. Florence was carried to her final resting place by her beloved grandchildren. Donations in memory of Florence may be made to a charity of one's choice.
