RUSHTON: The death of Shirley Ann Rushton occurred on Monday, October 30, 2011 at the Health Science Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 56years. Shirley was born September 27, 1955 at Westville, Nova Scotia. Growing up she enjoyed time spent with "Henry", her horse and best friend. She attended Westville High School excelling in sports and graduated from Lahr Senior High School. Shirley married and moved to Manitoba where she discovered her passion for bowling. Shirley then moved to Germany in 1979, where she and husband Tom raised their family. For the past twenty years Shirley and her children have resided in Brandon and she was employed at Basefoods in Shilo, Manitoba. Shirley was secretary treasurer for the UFCW and she was always part of a bowling league. Shirley is survived by her children: Tammy Lynn Rushton, Jennifer Leigh Rushton, Wesley Roger Rushton, as well as her parents Allan Arthur and Shirley Ann Horton, brother Allan Horton. She is also survived by her granddaughter Samantha Jayde Rushton-Rea and grandson Kyle Blake Rushton. Shirley was predeceased by her grandparents Henry and Ann Duggan and her uncle Aubrey Duggan. The Ceremony to Celebrate Shirley's Life was held at Memories Chapel, 330 - 18th Street North on Friday, November 4, 2011. Rev. Wayne and Lynne Sanderson officiated. Urn Bearer was Jennifer Rushton. Interment was held at Rosewood Memorial Gardens.
