WILSON: Roland (Roly) Alexander Wilson, September 28, 1923 - October 10, 2011. With sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Roly Wilson at Boissevain Hospital on October 10, 2011 after a short stay in hospital. The youngest son of John and Emma Wilson, Roly was born at Whitewater, attended Petersburg School and stayed to farm the home farm which has been in the family since 1911. Roly was predeceased by his parents John and Emma, five sisters: Gertie, Nellie, May, Mary and Hazel. Four brothers: Bill, Harry, Ted, and Joe and their spouses. Hunting, snowmobiling and hockey were some of his interests in younger years and he always looked forward to his weekends of fellowship with his friends and buddies in Boissevain and Deloraine. Roly will be missed by his neighbors and near-by family and friends who gave the support that enabled him to live out his strong desire to remain in his home to the end. Also, he will be missed by his many nieces and nephews and their families, who have kept in contact over the years. A special thank-you to Dr. Nell and the hospital staff for the kind care Roly received in his final days. A celebration of Rolys life at a graveside service was held on October 14, 2011 with Rev. John Oldenkamp officiating. Interment in the Wilson Family plot at the Boissevain Cemetery. Donations in memory of Roly may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Killarney and Boissevain Funeral Home Ltd. were in care of arrangements.
