FIDLER: Bertha Ida Fidler, beloved mother of Jeanette Sherb (Tom) of Brandon and John Fidler (Karen) of Morden, passed away at her residence, Hillcrest Place Nursing Home on Thursday, January 26, 2012. Bertha was born at Deloraine, Manitoba on September 12, 1928, the daughter of Thomas and Jane McKay. Besides her children she is also survived by six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren. A brother, Don McKay of Calgary also survives. There are numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Fidler was predeceased by her husband, Walter in 1982, a son Jim in 1972 and by seven brothers and one sister. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 10:30 am. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Dominic Yuen. A graveside ceremony will be held at the Pilot Mound Cemetery Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 pm. Pallbearers will be; Kim and Henry Verner, Shawna and Stacy Jones, Craig Keen and Steve Friesen. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Bertha to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, #3, 824-18th Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 5B7 or to the Canadian Cancer Society, 415-1st Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 2W8.
