JEDEL: Brenda Marie (Austin) Jedel (1951 – 2012), 60 years of age, a Carievale, SK. resident, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 after a brief battle with leukemia. She was born on November 10, 1951 to Mr. and Mrs. Gordon and Bernice Austin in Souris, MB. where she was raised and schooled, graduating in 1969. Brenda was married to Kurt William Jedel in 1973 and lived in Brandon, MB. with a brief move to Dauphin, MB. Brenda was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and her life centered on her family and friends. Left to celebrate Brenda’s life are husband Kurt Jedel of Carievale, SK.; two children: Daryle (Nicole) and their daughters Brittani, Madison and Kianna of Gainsborough, SK. and Pam (Doug Brewster) and their sons Ben and Nolan of Calgary, AB.; brother Ken (Carol) Austin of Escondido, CA.; mother-in-law Ella (Lowe) Jedel of Austin, MB.; brother-in-law Marvin (Louella) Jedel and their children Clinton, Ryan, Amanda (Kyle Van Den Bussche) of Sidney, MB.; sister-in-law Patricia (Dave Juskiw) and daughter Sarah of Lacombe, AB., and her many cousins and friends. Those welcoming her to heaven include her parents Gordon and Bernice (Carley) Austin; father-in-law Karl Jedel. Brenda had a zest for life and a heart for people. She had a love and patience for children that showed in her many years of childcare in her home. Brenda loved doing crafts and singing along to music, be it the golden oldies or children’s songs. She loved shopping and could be drawn into any store that sparkled or had a glass piece in the window.She loved to travel and went on many special trips with family and friends. Trips to the lake to fish were especially enjoyable for her. Brenda was never far from a phone listening to family and friends share their joys, their sorrows, or just to chitchat. She loved to be needed. The funeral service was held from the Carievale United Church, Carievale, SK. on Monday, January 30, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Rob Reed officiating. A reception followed in the lower hall of the church. A private interment service will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the devoted doctors and nurses that attended to her care in Regina (Pasqua), Saskatoon (Royal University) and Oxbow (Galloway Health Centre).
