FOUILLARD: Henriette Suzanne Fouillard passed away very peacefully on January 31st with family around her at the Russell and District Personal Care Home. She was born April 11, 1937, the daughter of John and Gertrude Lefranc. She had 3 brothers and one younger sister. Ernest, Rene and Marcel Lefranc live in BC and her sister Rosaline lived in the community and passed away recently. Henriette attended school in St. Lazare at the convent where she gained the necessary skills to prepare her for a very fulfilling life. She married Paul Eugene Fouillard on January 5th 1953 and together they had 9 children; 6 boys and 3 girls. The family expanded over the years to include 23 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews too many to list. Im sure we can all appreciate that mom seldom had a quiet day. This especially came to be when Dad, her husband Paul, passed away suddenly on February 12, 1990. This was a defining moment for mom as she suddenly, at the young age 52, had the weight of the family and the family business resting on her shoulders. As always was the case with mom, she stepped in with strength and determination providing nurturing, guidance and when necessary the odd kick in the backside keeping the family close throughout her life. She never gave up on anyone be it family or extended family and worked tirelessly to that end. Moms passions, aside from family which always came first, were gardening, needle point and making jams from wild berries picked by her and family. To define mom with one word it would be determination followed closely by patience. She was elegant, classy and while she never used the word freely she loved her family dearly. Prayers were said Friday evening. The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from the St. Lazare Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the St. Lazare Cemetery. If friends so desire donations may be made to the Crohns and Colitis Foundation of Canada. Braendle- Bruce Funeral Service of Russell, Manitoba (204-773-2747) in care of arrangements.
