MUDRAY: Peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the Douglas Campbell Lodge, Michael Mudray of Portage la Prairie, beloved husband of Stella Mudray passed away at the age of 97 years. Funeral servie will be held in the chapel of the Omega Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 1:30 pm with Deacon Michael Strilec officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Park. Michael was born on October 13, 1914 son of Thomas & Malania Mudray at Arborg, Manitoba. He was raise and received his education at Rembrandt. He was employed as a farm labourer for several years and on June 22, 1940 he married Stella Ploschak and they made they home at East Bay near Rorketon until 1956 when they moved to Brandon where he was employed in the construction industry. Later he was employed at the Rivers Air base until it closed when they then moved to Portage where he was employed at CFB Southport. until his retirement in 1980. Michael was a member of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Assumption and a member fo the Herman Prior Centre. In his spare time he enjoyed doing carpentry work and woodworking, also maintaining his home and yard. His leisure time was spent at the Herman Prior Centre playing snooker with his friends. Predeceased by his parents, four brothers; Fred, Metro, Anton and William he leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 71 years; Stella, two sons; Michael of Brandon, Barry (Anne) of Winnipeg, three grandchildren: Tara (Steve), Trisha (Chris) and Colin, two great grandchildren: Teresa and Catherine. Also surviving is his sister Sophie Milarchuk of Toronto and several nieces and nephews. Flowers gratefully declined but should friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
