MORTON: It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Daniel James Morton, age 26, on Saturday, February 18, 2012. Daniel was born October 16, 1985 at Brandon General Hospital. He has left behind his loving family, mother Pauline and partner Scott, father Neville and step mother Janet, brother Shaun and sisters Erin and Jessica, step sister Angie and step brother Ryan, Grandpa Charles Clarkson of Nelson, B.C., many Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and friends in Canada, New Zealand, and Australia. He was predeceased by his Grandparents Ronald and Flora Morton and Edna Clarkson. Daniel attended Souris Valley School from K-11 and grade 12 at Dakota Collegiate, Winnipeg. He graduated in 2010 from Red River Community College with a Diploma in Architectural/Engineering Technology. Daniel was currently employed as an Architectural Technician at Number TEN Architectural Group in Winnipeg. He learned carpentry skills from his father and used these skills to help others. Daniel had plans to further his passion for architecture in Australia. Daniel loved playing sports and enjoyed the outdoors, spending many fun filled hours on dirt bikes, snowboarding, scuba diving, sky diving and karate. He was on the football and wrestling teams at school and enjoyed camping, the beach, and tubing down the Souris River. Daniel spent over a year living in Australia, he loved it and always wanted to go back. He made many friends there and spent the year working and traveling and touring the country. Daniel loved gatherings of all sizes, he was happiest in a crowd listening to his favorite bands or just hanging out with friends and family. Daniel was a kind and caring person whose laughter and goofy antics wouldfill the room with joy. He always wanted everyone he knew and loved to be happy."No worries mate"A service of remembrance will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, Brandon on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with Bruce Palmerofficiating. Interment will be at Carroll Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Salvation Army, National Processing Centre, P.O. Box 8200, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 4W5, Siloam Mission 300 Princess Street Winnipeg, MB R3B 1M3 or a local charity of your choice.
