WHITEBIRD: Judy Whitebird, beloved wife of Percy Hanska, mother of Peter Kasto Jr., Sterling Hotain and Gayle Kasto, of Birdtail Sioux Dakota Nation, passed away at the Hamiota Hospital on February 20, 2012, age 57. Judy is survived by five brothers, Wayne (Val), Dennis (Vivian), Douglas, Morris (Sheila), Darren (Shannon and three sisters, Florence (Don), Louella (Gerald), Isabelle (Denis). A Traditional Wake will be held on Friday, February 24, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Funeral Service Saturday, February 25th at 2:00 p.m. Traditional Feast at 11:00 a.m. All will be held at the Birdtail School. Deacon Conrad Plante officiating. “Shed not tears of sorrow for me, but rather tears of joy and laughter and celebrate my life; I am only a thought and prayer away and will forever remain within each and every one of you”
