WADDELL: It is with our profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of Olivia Lois Waddell on Sunday, February 19, 2012. With family and friends at our side, we welcomed our little angel into a world she left far too soon. Olivia was born at St Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on February 19, 2012, the daughter of Jared & Rebecca (Bence) Waddell. She leaves to mourn her parents and big brother Evan, Grandparents Duncan & Audrey Waddell (Newdale) and Barry & Clarice Bence (Winnipeg), Aunts and Uncles Aynsley & Neill Strocen, Sarah & Chris Katiniaris, and Jonathan Bence all of Winnipeg along with three little cousins Allie, Kayla, and Theo. As well as many wonderful friends and extended family scattered across the world. Although she was only with us for a short while, Olivia brought much joy to all of our lives and will be sorely missed. Fly, fly, our little butterfly.Special thanks to our friends and families, all of the doctors, nurses, and chaplains in the LDRP unit at St. Boniface Hospital for their compassion and support. Very special thanks to Chris, the nurse who oversaw our first evening with our precious little girl. You truly were an angel during our most trying moments. A special thanks to Pastor Michael Kurtz for being there when we needed you the most. We are also extremely grateful to the volunteers at the hospital for providing thoughtful keepsakes to remember our precious little girl, along with the tremendous support we have received from all of our family, friends, and co-workers. Your acts of caring, words of encouragement and personal stories have lifted us more than you could ever know. A celebration of Olivias life was held on Friday, February 24, 2012 at First Lutheran Church, 580 Victor Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. A private family interment followed. All are welcome. For those who wish, donations can be made through the family to sponsor a park bench in Olivias memory to be placed in the butterfly garden at the Childrens Playground at Assinboine Park. Donations to the LDRP unit at St. Boniface Hospital, Plan Canada, or any other childrens charity of your choice would be gratefully received.
