STARLING: Mildred (Millie) Rosella (nee Matwick) passed away peacefully with her family by her side on March 28, 2012. Mother was born August 24, 1922 in Brandon, Manitoba. She married Alexander William (Bill) Starling on September 16, 1944 and was blessed with three children. Mom was predeceasedby her mother Agnes in 1955, father William (Bill) in 1957, husband Bill in 1979, her son-in-law Dr. Fraser Wingert in 2007 and siblings Helen, Jeanette, Frank, Stanley, Joe and Ed. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Elizabeth Wingert of Victoria, BC, Dianne Starling of Brandon and her son Bill (Jan) Starling of Brandon, along with her grandchildren, Lisa, Jennifer, Natalie, Sarena (Calder), Laurissa, Jana, Jeff, Jennifer and great-granddaughter Kayla. Mom is also survived by her sister Sylvia (Wally) Barry of BC. Mother was employed for a number of years at McKenzie Seeds, Green Acres Drive-in as well as over 20 years as a Central Supply Technician at the Brandon General Hospital. Mom was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. A very social woman, mom was active in the ANAF Unit 10, Brandon Royal Canadian Legion as well as the UCT. Mother had loads of friends whom she enjoyed many activities with, such as bowling, bingo, and her favorite past-time bridge. Mom also enjoyed gardening and was very proud of her yard. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Millie may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 3-824-18th St. Brandon. A Celebration of Life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. A private interment will take place at Rosewood Memorial Gardens.Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com.
