TEETAERT: It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our mom, grandma and great grandma Jeanne Teetaert. Jeanne passed away at the Souris Hospital on April 4, 2012 at the age of 85 with her family by her side. She was born October 24, 1926. Jeanne and Amiel were married September 30, 1948. They farmed in the Underhill District for many years. Jeanne enjoyed curling in the winter and spent endless hours gardening and doing chores around the farm the rest of the year. In 1974 they moved to Hartney, Manitoba and she became involved in many organizations. Jeanne was a member of the Hartney Legion Ladies Auxiliary for many years and helped with many functions. She spent many years with the Horticultural Society and the Hart Cam Centre. She loved playing cards, bingo and enjoyed the friendships she made over the years. Mom enjoyed her daily walks with her friend and neighbor Nancy and her Saturday coffee dates with Joyce. She spent countless hours in her garden making sure it always looked its best. Mom’s greatest joy was the times she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Grandma watched hockey games, ball games, band concerts and spent many hours playing games, cards, knitting and listening to all of their accomplishments. Grandma was proud of them all and they will miss her deeply. Jeanne is survived by her son Walter (Linda), son-in-law Ed (Karen) Chaban; grandchildren Brian (Angie) Teetaert, Bonnie Chaban, David (April) Chaban and great grandchildren Brayden and Janessa Teetaert, Lucus, Jace and Emersyn Chaban. Her sisters-in-law Susan and Martha, brother-in-law Maurice, Amiel’s brothers and sisters and numerous nieces and nephews also survive her. Her parents Maurice and Madeline Cappelle, brothers Gerard and Victor, sister Mary, husband Amiel, daughter Laura and grandson Brent Teetaert predeceased Jeanne. Her family and friends will sadly miss Jeanne. Funeral Mass was held at St. Jean’s Catholic Church, Grande Clairiere, Manitoba on Tuesday April 10,2012 with celebrant Father Geoffrey Angeles followed by interment in the Riverside Cemetery Hartney, Manitoba. In memory of Jeanne donations may be made to the Souris Hospital Palliative Care c/o ARHA Box 10 Souris, Manitoba R0K 2C0 or to Cancer Care Manitoba.
