ZYWINA: Violet May Zywina (nee Stone) passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 8, 2012 after a full life. She is survived by her husband Len of 57 years and daughters Pat (Bruce Hawkins), Ottawa and Kathy (Mark Rodriguez), San Antonio. Violet was born in Brandon, married Len and raised their family there. She provided a solid foundation for her family including being a Brownie Leader, softball and curling coach and a loving mother. Violet enjoyed curling for many years and skipped a rink out of the Riverview Curling Club. Violet went on many a fishing trip on the waterways of Manitoba, enjoying nature. Together, Violet and Len enjoyed their life as snowbirds in Weslaco, Texas and their summer residence living in Countryside Estates, Onanole. She was an active shuffler winning many trophies and honors. Violet also enjoyed duplicate bridge. Prayers will be said at Memories Chapel, 330 - 18th Street North on Thursday April 12, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Augustine's RomanCatholic Church, 327 - 4th Street on Friday April 13, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. James Ahaneku. Interment will be in the Brandon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Violet may be made to any charity of your choice. Expressions of sympathy may be made atwww.memorieschapel.com. Arrangements are with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
