SOKOLOSKI: Irene Iris Sokoloski (Fraser) November 20, 1928 - April 9, 2012. Mom passed away peacefully on Monday, April 9th, after a lengthy illness. She wanted, with all heart, to remain with us, but she could fight no longer. Mom was predeceased by her husband, Ollie; her twin sister, Eileen, her sisters Ann, Mary, and Isabelle; and her brothers, Jimmy, Hugh and Donald. She is survived by her sister Evelyn (Bob) Fowlks and children, Thomas and William of Pacific Palisades, California; her son, Frank (Brenda) Sokoloski, and children, Kim and David of Rapid City; her daughter Shannon (Andy) Culbertson of Brandon; her daughter Cheryl (Scott) McDonald and children, Callum and Carson, of Brandon. Mom will be remembered for her quiet, remarkable strength and love for her family. We would like to thank the staff on 400 and A2 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre for their compassionate care of our Mother over the last few years and especially her final three weeks. Special thanks to Dr. Visser for his personal touch. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and Mom will be interred with her parents in Pine Falls Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Iris’s name to Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation, care of Murray House.
