RONDEAU: Irene Lillian Rondeau. October 18, 1935 - April 3, 2012. Mother was born on the farm near Notre Dame de Lourdes on October 18, 1935. She was the youngest of six children of Paul and Marie Avanthay. She spent many hours helping her Dad on the farm between going to school in and around Notre Dame. She finished her schooling in Notre Dame while living with her Grandmother. Afterwards she went to work as a waitress in Manitou, until meeting and marrying Damien Rondeau from St. Leon on June 19, 1954.They resided on the farm Dad bought between Margaret and Minto, MB. There they raised three boys, Gerald born in 1955, Gary in 1957, and Harvey in 1961. Mom enjoyed several sports, especially ball which she enjoyed playing, particularly a game of catch with any one of the boys. Also she especially enjoyed watching any one of them play either hockey, ball or curling and could be heard cheering for them at any of their games. Mother also loved to travel at any chance that came along, whether it was on vacation or simply a weekend visiting friends or relatives across the country. She will be sadly missed, but know that she’s in a better place now. A memorial mass will be held at the St. Felix De Valois Catholic Church in Dunrea, Manitoba on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the St. Felix Cemetery in Dunrea.
