STEVENS: Marion Ellen (Higginbotham) Stevens left us to be with our Lord on Saturday, April 14, 2012 in Brandon, Manitoba. Marion was born February 27, 1911 in Oak Lake. She enjoyed teaching school before she married Ernie in 1935. They lived in Minnedosa for over 30 years where Ernie owned and operated Stevens Drug Store. Marion was very active in Church and community affairs. She was a Sunday school teacher, president of UCW, life member of Women's Missionary Society, past member of the Eastern Star and a charter member of Inner Wheel. After Ernie retired, they spent thirteen winters in Stuttgart, Arkansas where they were active members of First Baptist Church. Marion was predeceased by her parents John and Maude Higginbotham, her sisters Lillian, Eva, Margaret and Gladys; her brothers Wesley, Fred and Wilfred, and in 2005 by her loving husband, Ernie. She is survived by her daughter Marilyn Williams and her son Gordon (Mary) Stevens; her grandchildren Randy (Andrea) Erwin, Dr. Steven (Megan) Erwin, Dr. Scott (Janette) Erwin, Heather Dyson and Andrea (Tyler) Brill; her great-grandchildren Rachel and Elaina Erwin, Ashlynn and Colt Erwin, Halle, Lauren and Luke Erwin, Paul and Grace Dyson, Freya and Zoe Brill. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Fred and his wife Fern Stevens. Marion touched many lives and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The funeral service will be held at Memories Chapel in Brandon on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 2:00 pm. Arlene Robertson will officiate. Interment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Gardens. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to The Canadian Bible Society, 952 St. Mary's Road, Winnipeg, MB, R2M 3R8.
