CRETAIN: Marjorie Cretain (nee Warnick). June 4, 1932 - April 21, 2012. Saturday morning April 21st, peacefully with her family at her side, Marjorie left us to join Roland (Blackie), her beloved husband of 57 years. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters Judy (Nick Karanasos) and Cathy (Ralph McLennan), and her sons Bob (Adrian Baker), Tom and Ron. She was the beloved grandma of David (Nicole), Angela (Chris), Geoff (Alex), Thomas, Marie (Jonathan), Gabriel, Sarah, Simon, Taylor and Hannah, and great-grandma of Olivia. Marjorie was born June 4, 1932 in Brandon, Manitoba. In 1950 Marjorie met Blackie (Roland) the love of her life while he was stationed at CFB Shilo. They married and raised a family at various Canadian Forces locations including Penhold, Sea Island and Namao. In 1966 they moved to Vancouver and then finally to Cloverdale. After Blackie’s death in 2008 Marjorie moved to Elim Residence in Surrey. Marjorie left her small town when she was young, but the small town never left her. She had a cheerful and uncomplicated spirit and was a devoted to her family and home throughout her life. There will be a private family service and interment where Marjorie will be laid to rest next to her husband. In lieu of flowers, donations to Surrey Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit - North 52, would be appreciated.
