HEAMAN: William Clifford (Cliff) Lyle. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Cliff, on April 24, 2012 at the age of 81 years. He left to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 52 years, Bernice; a son Lyle Heaman and his family Helena, Billy (Jenifer), James, Jonathan, Justin (Shelley), Robin Davison (Helena); and a daughter Colleen Robertson (Wayne) and her family Steven, Laura, Christine, Logan McGonigal (Laura), Chelsea Thomas (Steven); and great-granddaughters, Roanna, Ariah, Jude Davison and Avery McGonigal, as well as many relatives and friends. Cliff was born on the farm at Harmsworth on May 27, 1930. The son of Gordon and Agnes Heaman. He had three brothers, Jon, Alvin and Walter, and two sisters, Emma and Lorna. Cliff married Bernice Clair Alexander on August 8, 1959 they made their home on the farm he was born on in the Harmsworth District. Cliff and Bernice farmed as partners for many years. Cliff was still very active and interested in the farms right up until his passing, helping his son and grandson. He moved to Oakner in 1994, then to Hamiota where he was very involved in the lives of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cliff was a member of the Legion and Forester’s Club. He worked very hard all his life but also knew how to have fun. He was an avid fastball player and until he turned 80 could claim he had pitched in every decade of his life, he curled many games in many rinks, played many games of cards at the Legion and with family and friends over the years. Cliff was a hardcore fan of his grandchildren’s sporting events and spent lots of time watching them play sports as well as at Christmas concerts, etc. It wasn’t very often that his grandchildren could look out in a crowd at anything they were doing and not see grandpa’s face. Cliff was truly a devoted family man and a great friend who will be missed by many. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice for anyone wishing to do so.
