DOWNIE: Edith Grace Downie (nee Thomson), August 6, 1934 – May 12, 2012. On Saturday, May 12, 2012 Edith Grace Downie (nee Thomson) aged 77 passed away peacefully at the Palliative Care Centre in Stonewall, MB. Edith was predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years Thomas Downie and her cherished brother Frank. Edith was a devoted spouse and mother and will be deeply missed by her grandchildren John (Tanya) Downie, Kate Downie and Fiancé; her son Tom (Michelle) Downie; Lorna Davies, Ron Fitzsimmons and family, Lyle and Alice Kjartanson, Bob (Myrtle) Downie, Marty (Curly) Downie, Rob (Fernanda) Downie and Beth Downie. Mom wanted, along with dad, to thank the community of Grosse Isle for the years of support given during both Tom’s and her illnesses. Along with mom, the family would like to express their appreciation to all the staff, nurses and Doctor’s at the Interlake Medical Centre and Palliative Care, for their kind and caring assistance.
