COCHRANE: Dorothy Margaret Cochrane. Born September 7, 1917, died May 20th 2012. It is with sadness we announce the passing of our Mother Dorothy Margaret Cochrane (Beamish) at the Sherwood Home in Virden, MB on Sunday May 20th, 2012. She was born September 7, 1917 in Shoal Lake, MB, to Harry and Margaret Beamish. She was a devoted wife and mother. Over the years she and Ab were foster parents to many children for the Children’s Aid Society and she followed their well being with interest. She had a great love for all types of pets and always had pets in her home until she and Ab moved to Lilac Lodge in Hamiota. Dorothy chose a private life, traveling little, but followed world events with interest. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Ab in September, 2007; her granddaughter Marsha (1988); sisters, Gladys (1974), Marjorie (1984); brothers Jack (1995), Donald (1997), Robert (2001), and Douglas (2009); her daughter-in-law Dianne (1990). Dorothy is survived by her children Leigh, Robert (Norma), Karen (Ken) Morton, and Wendy (Gerry) Nykoliation; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A private celebration of Dorothy’s life will take place with a graveside ceremony at a later date at the Hamiota Cemetery.
