HUDSON: Donald F. Hudson passed away unexpectedly at home on May 24, 2012. Don was born on February 19, 1934 in Killarney, MB. He was the eldest child of Vern and Anna Hudson. He attended Long River School. On October 27, 1962 Don married Donna Dalrymple. Together they had 3 children, Kathy, Kim and Kurtis. During their thirty five years of marriage they lived in Boissevain, Lyleton, and Pierson. Don started his career working for Drings as a long haul truck driver. Don found it difficult to be on the road away from his family, so in 1969 he made a career change and started to buy grain for N.M.Paterson and Sons in Lyleton. Between Lyleton and Pierson his career lasted thirty years buying grain. He was a very devoted, hardworking and savvy businessman. He trained several grain buyers and helpers and was well respected in the grain buying business. At the elevator he met many lifelong friends while bickering over the all might cent on the bushel of grain that was being hauled to the elevator. Don retired in 1999 to Boissevain, one year after Donna passed away. He started a new career of leisure including travelling, hunting and fishing. Don loved to go out fishing and really enjoyed taking grandkids, nephews and great nephews out in his prized boat. Dons personality was one of a kind. His sense of humour was contagious. He found extreme pleasure in making people laugh. Left to cherish Dons memory are daughters Kathy (Maurice) Mangin, Kim (Scott) Witzke and son Kurtis (Kimmy) Hudson. Grandchildren Nathan and Kalene Mangin, Tyler and Dylan Witzke, and Piper Hudson. Sisters Lorraine (Bernie) Boisjoli and Shirley (Larry) Cinq Mars. Sister and brother in-laws Louise Hardcastle, Shirley Gardiner, Dorothy Coupland, Howard Dalrymple, Miles (Carole) Dalrymple, Murray Glen (Myrtle) Dalrymple and Rob (Cindy) Dalrymple, numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Don was predeceased by his wife Donna (1998) and his parents Vern and Anna Hudson. The funeral was held in Boissevain, Manitoba on May 29, 2012. Pallbearers were Doug Coupland, Donald Coupland, Wesley McKee, Colin McKee, Darcy Groves, and Michael Dalrymple. Dad loved children.
