WEIR: Wilbert Dennis Weir, February 2, 1960-May 27, 2012 Suddenly, with his 3 girls by his side, Wil passed from this life on Sunday, May 27. He was born February 2 in Russell, MB. He was the third of five children born to Harold and Edna (Nernberg) Weir of Inglis, MB. His first year of schooling took place at a one room rural school called Freefield near Inglis, MB. He attended school in Inglis for the remainder of his elementary education followed by Russell for high school. Upon graduation, he began employment with Clements Ltd. in the accounting department in Russell. From there, he commenced his career with the Royal Bank. First in Russell and then in various other Manitoba locations. He served RBC in the far north at Churchill and in the south at Melita and many other rural towns in between. He started the new century by moving to Virden and serving as Loans Officer in the Virden Credit Union. He held the position of Manager of Lending Services at Sunrise Credit Union, Virden Branch at the time of his passing. He was very involved with the community. He served on the Aud Theatre Board. He was very involved in High School Rodeo, helped coach baseball, and served on the Virden Employment Skills board. He lent his talents to the St. Pauls United Church finance and planned gift committees. He shared his rich bass voice with The Heard a male choir from Oak Lake, and the St. Pauls Choir. He very much enjoyed being part of St. Pauls candlelight service at the Christmas season. He married Denise Trott of Minnedosa on July 24, 1993. Daughter Chelsey joined the family in 1995 and Nicole in 1997. He was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Edna Weir, brother Garhart, and nephew Peter Weir. He is survived and deeply missed by his wife Denise, daughters Chelsey and Nicole of Virden, brother Clifford (Pat) Weir of Kimberley, BC, sisters, Lorraine Weir of Winnipeg, Karen (Michael) Trush of Dauphin, father and mother-in-law, Bill and Doreen Trott of Minnedosa, brother-in-law Claire Trott of Minnedosa, sister-in-law Eileen Trott of Brandon, nephew Bradley Weir, as well as aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins. The funeral service was conducted from the Rec. Centre in Virden on Thursday, May 31. Rev. Janice Van Aertselaer officiated assisted by Paster Jason Zinko. Pallbearers were Garry Williamson, Darius Bomback, Gene Pielechaty, Brad Nernberg, Ross Coombs, and Glen Grieve. Ushers were Mark Wilton, Mark Birch, Tim Penner, and Jade Cabel. Music was provided by Sherridan Reimer and Shelby Rampton. Choir leaders were Dianne Leifson and Karyn Morrow-Penner. The choir was composed of members from the choirs of Oak Lake (Notable Women and The Heard), St. Pauls United Church, and Virden Collegiate Institute. G.R. Carscadden Funeral Chapel of Virden were in charge of arrangements. We hear your voice as the leaves sigh.We see your smile in the sunset sky.
