MAXWELL: Dorothy Roberta Maxwell (nee Anderson). A graveside service was held at the Boissevain Cemetery on May 5/12 at 1:00 p.m. to remember Dorothy. Family and friends met at the Parrish Hall following the service conducted by Rev. Peter Vanderleelie. Dorothy died peacefully at Evergreen Place on April 16th, 2012, after 3 years of striving to keep mobile despite mounting health challenges. She was pre-deceased by her husband Earle August 1, 2010, an infant daughter, and her parents. She leaves to mourn her passing, son Tom (Kim) of Alexander, Mb, daughter Karen McFayden (Brian) of Mission, BC and 3 grandchildren, Braeden, Dylan and Jayne. She is also survived by her sisters Doris Denney (Alsask, Sk) and Marjorie Buchan (Bill) of Victoria B.C. , 3 sister in laws and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was born March 11th, 1929 the middle daughter to Robert and Lily Anderson. She was educated and lived most of her life in Boissevain. On May 27, 1949 Dorothy and Earle were married, and in 1958 moved from Ninette to Boissevain, purchasing what became known to many as “Maxwell Bakery.” She had many interests, which included playing the piano, curling, reading, knitting, sewing and baking goodies for the grandchildren. Dorothy was also a caregiver, looking after both of her parents and then her husband Earle. She was cared for by so many compassionate and loving people in the Boissevain community over the last 2 years upon moving to Westview, Hospital and Evergreen - we are truly thankful. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or Boissevain Hospital.
