ROST: Fred W. and Verna V. Rost. Fred passed away December 14, 2011, 3 months short of his 95th birthday. Verna passed away March 19, 2012 just days from her 94th birthday. They were both born and raised in Winnipeg. Fred and Verna married in 1940 and spent over 71 years together. Fred served in Europe during WW II and was a manager at Perths Drycleaners in Brandon for 23 years. Verna was involved in numerous charity groups, enjoyed playing bridge and gardening. Many enjoyable weekends with family and friends were spent at their cottage on the peaceful North Shore of Clear Lake. They retired to Salmon Arm, BC in 1977, then moved to White Rock, BC in 1988. They are survived by daughters Carolyn Gregory (David), Judith Donaldson (Bob), son Fred (Mary Ann), five grandchildren Christy, Paul, Karen, Lisa and Matthew, and four great grandchildren Madison, Isaac, Joshua and Gracie. Mom and Dad had long, healthy and happy lives together. It is comforting to know that after three short months apart they are reunited once again.
