WATSON: Beulah DeLong Watson (nee Sexton). On June 29, 2012, Beulah DeLong Watson of Virden, passed away peacefully at the Westman Nursing Home with her husband Lyle at her side. Beulah was born on the family farm in the Regent area, the sixth of seven children of Ross and Alice Sexton. She attended Wapaha and Deloraine Schools before moving to Winnipeg to work. In 1945, she married Winston Ross of Elgin and had one son, Robert. In 1947, Winston died tragically in a farming accident. On October 24, 1953, Beulah married Lyle Watson. They farmed in the West Hall district, and together had two more children, Laura and David. Beulah will be remembered by her family and friends as a person who enjoyed life. She was never one who wanted to be the centre of attention, but was always willing to join in on any activity – anywhere from line dancing to karaoke. Beulah and Lyle spent time travelling throughout Canada and the US, and for more than twenty-five years, thoroughly enjoyed spending the winters in Arizona. Dancing and happy hour with their many friends were sources of great fun for all. In the summers, she enjoyed trips in their fifth wheel and fishing on Lake of the Prairie. One of Beulah’s greatest joys was spending time with family. There were very few milestones in the lives of her children or grandchildren that she missed. Friends often remarked on how close the family was and how much we enjoyed being in each others’ company, sharing a story, a game, or a glass of Lyle’s wine. Laughter was always in abundance in the Watson house, due often to Beulah’s quick wit and great sense of humour. Beulah will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 58 years, Lyle. She will be forever in the hearts of her son Robert Ross (Lois), daughter Laura (Rick Wright), and son David Watson (Vivian). Grandchildren Chris Ross, Vincent (Maribel) Ross, Danny Wright, Erin Watson, Carla Watson, and great-grandson Rex Ross will remember that Grandma always had time for them. Beulah is also survived by her sister, Dorothy More of Souris, sisters-in-law Hilda Sexton, Beth Ewen, Janet (Bruce) Clevett, and numerous nieces and nephews. Beulah was predeceased by her first husband Winston Ross and her parents Ross and Alice Sexton. She was also predeceased by her brothers George, Stuart, Raymond and Edgar Sexton and sister Mabel Armstrong. A celebration of Beulah’s life will be held Saturday, July 14, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Carscadden Funeral Chapel, 383 Wellington Street West, Virden, Manitoba with Reverend Lydia Glawson officiating In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Beulah may be made to a charity of choice. The family would like to thank Dr. Fitzgerald and the staffs at Virden Health Centre and Westman Nursing Home for their compassion and care. Arrangements with Carscadden Funeral Chapels Ltd., Virden, Manitoba.
