DELEURME: Myrna Elizabeth Eva Gordon was born the fourth child of seven to Neta and James Gordon making her appearance on December 3, 1946. She lived on the Gordon home farm south-east of Belmont and attended the Hamlin one room school until she married Alec Deleurme in1963. After marrying they settled in Ninette where they raised their family until their move to Belmont in 1976 when they bought the Hardware Store. Daughter Jenny was born in 1963 and about a year later twin boys, Jamey and Joey, Terilisa came along in1965 and Kristie in 1966. Before buying the hardware store Myrna worked at the TB Sanatorium and later the Pelican Lake Training center. Throughout the years she had many interests including genealogy, quilting, sewing, ceramics, photography, golfing, gardening and yard saling. Myrna was creative and wrote poems on special occasions. She enjoyed making slideshows and experimenting with different photo programs on her computer. She helped in the community whenever possible and was a member of the Rae Rebekah Lodge. Myrna and Alec moved to Brandon in 1997 where Myrna worked at Victoria Woods and Multi-Plex Management then settled in a job at Manitoba Housing. Her family, friends and community were important to her and she was immensely proud of her children and grandchildren who loved and looked up to her. Myrna was just 65 when she passed away in the early morning on June 6, 2012 peacefully in her sleep at Fairview Home in Brandon. Her time to go came far too soon, both for her and those who loved her. She leaves behind the wonderful legacy of a close-knit, caring family. Myrna was predeceased by twin sons, Jamey and Joey in infancy, brother Dale Gordon, parents James & Neta (nee Weedmark) Gordon, Niece Shelley Johnson and by her brother in-law Lorne Yarycky.
