WILKINSON: Dorothy Jean Wilkinson (nee Parker) April 25, 1933 - December 25, 2011. After a brief illness, Dorothy peacefully went to be with her Lord in Heaven on December 25, 2011. She is survived, deeply loved and missed by their five children, daughters Kathy (Larry) Heffernan of Airdrie, Alberta, Carole (Ken) Saviak of Calgary, Alberta, and Marleen (Dan) Meier of Naicam, Saskatchewan, and sons David of Brooks, Alberta and Sean of Medicine Hat, Alberta, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, George “Henry” Wilkinson, September 1, 1924 - August 17, 2002. Mom’s greatest passion in life was in caring for babies and children. Dorothy and Henry served as Foster Parents for the Province of Alberta for nearly 30 years. Dad is remembered for his profound family devotion, striking sense of humor and ease in talking to people. In memory, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or CNIB. A graveside service for Dorothy and Henry will be held at the Minnedosa Cemetery on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 4:00, followed by a gathering at Minnedosa Beach.
