McKIM: It is with great sadness the family of Hartley Frederick McKim announce his passing on August 10, 2012 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Born in Regina, Saskatchewan on November 25, 1933, Hartley spent his early years on the family farm at Riceton, Saskatchewan and attended school in Riceton. In 1957, Hartley moved to Regina and started work with First Investors. Four years later, he joined Sperry New Holland as aterritory manager and spent the rest of his career with the company. Hartley and his family moved to Brandon, Manitoba in 1966, where Hartley lived until his passing. He retired in 1991, after thirty years with New Holland and took up golf to help him fill his days. Hartley loved sports and during his early years in Regina played senior baseball with the Riceton Gray Gophers and later took up tennis at the Brandon Tennis Club. Golf eventually became his passion and he became quite an accomplished golfer, even scoring a hole in one on the twelfth hole at the Wheat City golf course. Hartley will be deeply missed by his children Todd (Evelyn), Tracy (Gord), Suzanne and Sean (Erin) and his grandchildren Steve (Tara), Travis (Stefanie), Ryan (Kimberley), Brynn, Keegan and Carter, his great-granddaughter Kacey, hispartner Flo Marcoux and his many friends. He is also survived by his brother Don. Hartley was pre-deceased by his parents Frank and Madeline McKim and his brothers Marvin, Ken and Doug. Hartley's funeral service took place at Memories Chapel on August 16, 2012 with Keegan McKim serving as urn bearer. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Brandon Regional Health Centre in ICU, 200, 400 and 2nd floor in Assiniboine along with the support staff for their care.
