WALDNER: Jacob Waldner . July 27, 1952 – October 3, 2012 On the wings of his welcoming angels Dad passed from our physical world into heaven’s waiting arms at the Tri-lake Health Center in Killarney. Dad grew up in rural Manitoba at the Elm River Colony with his 4 sisters and 5 brothers. Here inherited the nickname Jinx at a young age and it stuck even into adulthood. Dad followed 4 of his brothers in his late teen years, leaving Rainbow Colony for the bright lights of Wpg. He married our Mom in 1978 and together raised us, Lori and Mark, in Niverville. Here he was active in the community, as a ringette coach, volunteer firefighter and friend to whomever needed a hand. Camping in Debonair campground brings back many good memories while at the lake, watching him play horseshoes, and enjoying good food with friends and family. In May 2004 Dad accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour and a new journey began for him. Going to church and learning more about his new faith was very important to him. He met Linda in October 2004 and they got married on August 13, 2005. He and his wife enjoyed spending time with their children, grandchildren and extended family, camping at Miller Campground, going to church, and visiting with friends over coffee. Dad loved the laughter he and his Grandkids shared. Dad was predeceased by his parents Zach and Margaret Waldner and brother-in law Harry Gross. He leaves to mourn his wife Linda, his children Lori (Paul) and Mark (Amy), his stepchildren James (Carrie), Jennifer (Jeremy), Steven (Carleen), Jonathan (Amanda), his grandchildren Ethan, Ivy and Sylas, his step-grandchildren Keira, Kasey, Anna Lee, Josiah, Jaxon, Ariah, his former wife Louise, brothers Zack (Maureen), Harry (Sarah), Henry (Betty), John (Heather), Leonard (Margie) and sisters Susie, Maggie (Ben), Lena (Pete) and Cathy (Mike). Our family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Tri-lake Health center for the compassionate care provided to Dad during his illness. A wake will be held on October 8th, at 7:00 p.m. at the Wheatland Funeral Home in Killarney, MB. A family graveside service will be held at the Boissevain/Morton Cemetery at 12:30 on October 9th, with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 at the Lakeview Community Church in Killarney. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jake’s memory may be made to Cancer Care MB. WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH DAD XOXOXOXO Wheatland Funeral Service
