WILSON: On Thursday, November 8, 2012, at the age of 88 years, Ethel Irene Wilson passed away peacefully at Fairview Home, with sisters Ada and Mildred at her side. Born January 1, 1924, Ethel was the second child of Walter Felix and Mary Ettie Gardiner of the R.M. of Whitehead. She received her schooling at Millan School in the Terrance District and the Goodland School near Glenella. Ethel met Wilfred Wilson of the Glenella district and they were married on October 24, 1944. They farmed in the Glenella district until moving to Brandon in 1956. Together they had four children, Elmer, Larry, Darryl and Danny, the youngest passing away at birth. They later adopted Verna and Ron. Ethel worked for several years at Eaton's and later at K-mart and Zellers and considered many of her co-workers as family. Ethel is survived by sons Darryl (Marilyn) and Ron; daughter Verna; daughters-in-law Marlane and Fran; grandchildren: Danny, Dustin (Teneille), Chris, Corey, Christy (Darren), Crystal (Bob), Laura and Renee; great grandchildren: Faith, Clayton, Payton, Nathan, Sean, Cailey, Marley and Cooper; sisters Adaand Mildred; brother Jack; brother-in-law Cecil (Jean); sisters-in-law Joyce, Juan, Ada and Agnes as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by husband Wilfred; sons Danny, Elmer and Larry; brothers Walter, Fred and George. A celebration of Ethel's life was held at McDiarmid Drive Alliance Church on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 with Pastor Dan Pope officiating. A time of fellowship followed and interment took place at the Goodland Cemetery, Glenella, Manitoba. Pallbearers were grandsons Dustin and Chris Wilson and nephews Vic Thomson, Wayne Wilson, Robert Gardiner and Con Gardiner.
