WILLOX: Anna Caroline (nee COMBS). Peacefully October 19, 2012, mom passed away at Dinsdale Personal Care Home. Mom was born June 14, 1915 in Deloraine to William and Grace Combs. In November, 1941, she married Clarence (Mick) Willox. They farmed north of Deloraine and had 4 children. They moved from the farm to care for her ailing parents, while dad farmed from town. She was employed at the Rendevouz Restaurant and at Deloraine Hospital until age 70. Anna is survived by sister, Eva Christensen, sister-in-laws Joyce Willox and Lillian Willox, children Carole (Ken) Woodcock, Bill (Phyllis), Bob, and Barb (Doug) Kauk.  8 grandchildren (Shelley, Tom, Brett, Brad, Angie, Bryan, Dayna, Devan, Kevin, and Bryan) and 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband Clarence (1979), brother Harvey and great-grandson Quinton. Her sister-in-law, Anne Combs passed away just 5 days after mom. Mom was a member of the Deloraine United Church, UCW and taught Sunday School and volunteered at the Thrift Shop/delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. She received her 50 year pin from the Royal Canadian Legion last year. In her earlier years, she was a skilled skater, played women`s hockey, and enjoyed curling. During her later years she did a lot of cooking/baking for her shut in/in hospital friends and delivered it directly to them. She loved her Bingo and trips to Belcourt. In 2008 Mom moved to Odd Fellows Corner, Brandon and gave up her driver`s license at the age of 93. For the past 6 months, she resided at Dinsdale Personal Care Home. The character of our mother was best summed up by her granddaughter, Angie “Grandma was one of the kindest, gentlest, generous, caring and humble people I have ever known”. The most important thing in life to mom was her family and being with family was what she enjoyed the most. Her happiest times were spent at the lake, baking her butter tarts, chocolate chip cookies and apple pies which she shared with everyone. She will be missed. A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Dinsdale PCH, Chaplain Major Sharon McDonough, and Dr. Joanne Maier for being so caring and compassionate. Your support will forever be remembered.
