LINTICK: Cameron Roderick Lintick passed away September 6, 2012 in the Cascade Hospice in Chilliwack, BC. He had been a resident for only one week following three months of dedicated care in his home by his son Dale and daughter-in-law Shirley of Brandon, Manitoba. Cameron was born on November 9th, 1930 in Edmonton, Alberta but grew up in Dauphin, where he received his education. He worked at various jobs; in Andy Newton’s Meat Shop, at the Dauphin Herald and at Ackland’s. He married Shirley Meakin in November 1949, and in 1951, they moved to Port Colborne, Ontario, where he was employed by Imperial Oil. When they returned to Manitoba in 1959 he worked for Canadian Steel Tank and Metals Industries. Shirley passed away in March 1975. He moved in 1977 to Chilliwack, BC where he met his partner of 24 years, Vera Smith. Following a lengthy battle with cancer, Vera predeceased him in 2001. Cameron will be sadly missed by Dale & Shirley; his sister Donna and her husband Raymond Winters of Dauphin, as well as many nieces and nephews. Cam had many good friends in Dauphin, Brandon and Chilliwack and will be missed by all who knew him. Also left to mourn is his special friend and companion Marge Bothwick and her daughter Sharon Stelmaschuk of Chilliwack. He was predeceased by his parents Leslie and Susan Lintick and brothers Murray and Edwin. A graveside service was held November 12, 2012 in Dauphin where he was placed in the family plot.
