BADOWICH: Bernice Phyllis Badowich. This sweet and gentle lady passed away on November 24th on the Palliative Care Unit, peacefully and comfortably with family at her side. Bernice was born and raised in Brandon and except for a brief stay in Toronto resided here all her life. She was predeceased by her parents Joe and Nellie Sliwa, her husband Mike Badowich, her sister and brother-in-law Sophie and Herb Gudz. Bernice is survived by her partner of 24 years, Mike Andronick, and their many nieces and nephews, sister and brother-in-laws. She will be very missed by her niece and nephew, Janice Langston (Brad) and family and Garry Gudz and family. Bernice worked in various positions during her career, first at the Brandon Packers, then on to Shainos Furs where she was the manager. When not working she loved spending time at her cottage at Ditch Lake, travelling, knitting, playing cards and being with family and friends, especially her sister Sophie. She loved kids and dogs and they all adored her. Special thanks to Dr. Benade, the staff who cared for her while she was a patient at the Assiniboine Centre, your compassion and caring will not be forgotten. Also special thanks to Father Kevin Smith of St. Augustine's and Greg Hildebrand and all the staff of Memorys Funeral and Pre Planning Centre. If friends so desire donations in memory of Bernice may be made to the Brandon Regional Health Center Foundation A Sense of Home Campaign.
