PLANTE: Hazel Colleen Plante (nee Miller) beloved wife of the late Frederick Edward Plante, mother of Faye and Cheryl, passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg Wednesday, November 28, 2012. Born on the family farm near Oakburn, MB the family moved to Vista Valley in the Rossburn District where Hazel received her education at the Birdtail Valley School. In December of 1944, she married Frederick Plante. Before moving to Brandon in 1958, Fred and Hazel lived in Saskatchewan and at Lynn Lake, Man. She was employed at both Eaton's and later at Woolco Department Store. She was very involved in the Brandon Horticultural Society and many ladies coffee groups. She was also involved in her church, Bethel Christian Assembly, for over 50 years. Hazel leaves to mourn her beloved daughters Faye Edmundson of Vancouver, B.C. and Cheryl (Mark) Cramer of Brandon, three grandchildren: Dwayne Rhoades of Vancouver; Janelle Stoehr of Vancouver; Graydon Cramer of Brandon, one great granddaughter Chelsea Stoehr. Also surviving are her siblings Bernard Miller of Brandon, MB, Marian Galvin of Ottawa, ON, and Gervin Miller of Vernon, BC and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Frederick Plante, parents Henry and Eva Miller; siblings Everett Miller, Dorothy Owens, Dolly Galvin, and Cordie Bateman. All are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Bethel Christian Assembly, 440 Richmond Avenue, on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. followed by interment at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. A Reception for family and friends will be held immediately following the interment at Bethel Christian Assembly.
