BURGESS: Albert T. Burgess It is with great sadness, we announce that Albert Tilden Burgess passed away peacefully on December 14, 2012 at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 82. Albert was predeceased by his wife, Lila and his parents, Hazel and Elsie Burgess. Albert will lovingly be remembered by his four children Caroline (Glenn), Bob (Debbie), Garry (Michelle) and Kathy (John). His grandchildren Heather, Dianna, Stephen, Shawna, Julia (Justin), Jessica, Victoria, Joni (Jeffrey) and Bernie. His great grandchildren Isabella, Lucas, Clover, Alexandra, Kaylee and Hannah. He is also survived by two close brothers; Charlie and Ernie in British Columbia, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends. Albert was born Nov 27, 1930 and grew up on a farm near Lauder in South West Manitoba. He was a creative and inquisitive child, always fixing things for friends and family and even ensuring his house had electricity. In 1947 his family moved to Winnipeg and a few years later he married Lila Grieve from Lauder his soul mate of 59 1/2 years. He worked for 41 years at Bristol Aerospace, retiring at the age of 61 as the Manager of Material Provisioning & Inventory Control. In his retired years, he enjoyed his Bristol Breakfasts every two weeks as this allowed him to cherish his many friendships that he had formed throughout his career. He will always be remembered as a friendly, honest man who understood life and nature in the purest form. He took upon his shoulders the monumental task of caring for his disabled wife for more than 45 years. He dedicated his life to helping others. We will miss him dearly.Thank you to all the staff of Grace Cancer Care, the Palliative Care team, the Homecare team, and the staff at Riverview for their support and care. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB.
