PETERS: It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our wife, mother and grandmother, Barbara Jean Peters, on December 30, 2012 at the Hamiota District Health Centre. She was born Dec. 14, 1944, the eldest child of Rodney and Velma Woods of Binscarth, MB. She attended school in Binscarth until the age of 16 and then lived in the Oak River area with her aunt Nettie and uncle Theron Smyth until 18. She then moved to Morden to work as a nurses aide. There she met her future husband, Benjamin Peters. They married Sept. 19, 1964, in Binscarth, but resided in Winnipeg, where their 3 children were born. In 1972, they moved to the Ken Clubb farm, at Oak River, MB. Besides doing dairy work, she was a bartender and manager at the Blanchard waste site until she retired. She enjoyed gardening and yard work until lung cancer made it harder to manage. She fought hard and became cancer free for almost 14 years. She loved her children and grandchildren fiercely and enjoyed being a part of all they did. She leaves to mourn, her husband of 47 years, Ben; daughter Patricia and kids Rachel and Chase; son Michael (Mandy) and kids Rodney, Amelia and Melodee (and their mother April); daughter Tabatha (John) and kids Brandi, Kendra and Benjamin. She is survived by her sisters Glenda (Brian Parker) and Kim; brothers Garth (Debbie) and Jim (Noreen); brothers-in-law Victor Guspodoric and Tom Reiter. Sister-in-law Nettie Peters (Jake), Ann Enns (Bill), Susan Friesen (Abe), Tina Holenski (Joe), Mary Penner (Dave), Esther Peters (Bill), Trudy and Dave Derksen. Brothers-in-law Pete Peters (Lydia), Abe and Barb Peters, Cornie and Lynda Peters, Fred and Gloria Peters, John Peters (Ruth), Henry & Lydia Peters and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Rod and Velma Woods; sisters Bonnie Guspodoric and Lea Reiter; son-in-law William Anderson; mother-in-law Susan Peters; Ken and Helen Clubb who were like parents to her. Barb was surrounded by loved ones when her maker came to take her home. She will be greatly missed for her speak your mind attitude!
