GOLDSTONE: Christina Peace (Terry) Goldstone of Brandon, Manitoba Canada peacefully passed away on Friday, January 18, 2013 with her children by her side. Born in the Virden district on November 22, 1918, Christina was raised and educated in Oakner, Manitoba. She was the fifth child of seven children born to John and Annie Clark. After finishing school, Christina did housekeeping for a few years and then moved to Brandon where she worked for The Metropolitan Store, Woolworth’s, and Smith’s Drug Store. She met her husband Joe in 1945 when he returned home from overseas following W.W.II. They were married July 16, 1947. They moved to Douglas, Manitoba in 1951 to operate the store and restaurant known as “Goldstone’s Café”. After they closed the restaurant, Christina worked at Carnation Foods in Carberry, Manitoba. Christina and Joe lived in Douglas for 44 years. They moved to Brandon in 1995. She moved to River Heights Terrace in Brandon in May 2009 and resided there until the time of her hospitalization. Christina was a great cook and loved to bake; she will always be remembered for her delicious family dinners. The Goldstone home, as well as their cottage at Clear Lake, were always welcoming places to visit. Christina was predeceased by her husband Joseph Ernest Goldstone on March 22, 2007 just prior to their 60th wedding anniversary. She was also predeceased by her mother and father, John and Annie Clark; brothers and sisters Isabel Brandon (Thunder Bay), Mary Ann Kirkham (Lethbridge), Alexander Clark (killed in action in W.W.II), Johnny Clark (Vancouver), David Clark (Thunder Bay), and Joyce Eva Thurber (Thunder Bay). Christina is survived by her three children: Vince Goldstone (Marian) of Brandon, Neil Goldstone (Rose) of Calgary, and Colleen Coxon (Ken) also of Calgary. She is also survived by family member Ron Clark (Gail) of Penticton. Christina leaves five grandchildren: Tracy Vandemosseler (Winnipeg), Marty Goldstone (Redvers), Braden Coxon (Calgary), Katie Goldstone (Brett) (Calgary) and Craig Goldstone (Calgary), as well as three step grand children: Elizabeth Bass(Andrew) (Kamloops), Victoria Bass (Simon) (Kingston), and Nicholas Bass (Brandon). In addition, she leaves behind five great grand children: Kade, Karsen, Ryan, Addison, and Easton Goldstone of Redvers, and three step great grand children: Shalissa Busby (Ross) (Redvers), Gilles Bauche (Virden), and Dylan Everett (Brandon). She is also survived by numerous brothers and sisters in law, many nieces and nephews, and many, many friends. A Ceremony to Celebrate Christina’s Life will take place at Memories Chapel, 330 18th Street North, Brandon on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Barb Jardine will officiate. Interment will follow at Brandon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Christina`s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 415 - 1st Street, Brandon, Manitoba R7A 2W8, the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, 354 10th Street, Brandon, Manitoba R7A 4G1 or a charity of choice.
