William SCHARFF

SCHARFF: William Gardener “Bill” Scharff passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Bill was born in Hartney, MB on September 14, 1932 and spent his childhood on the farm. He attended Deleau School. In his younger years he held jobs driving school bus, carpentry and various other jobs before heading to Ontario to work for Hydro. He then returned to Manitoba to farm the family farm. Bill married Liza Nadeau (nee Hardy) on July 12, 1974. They had a mixed farming operation, consisting of dairy and beef cattle as well as grain. After selling some of the farming operation he worked at various jobs in Brandon and continued to work until 2011. Bill had a very strong work ethic and enjoyed working. He loved to drive around, just to see what was new and going on. He enjoyed his little dogs, whom would travel around with him. Bill is survived by his wife Liza; step children: Darlene, Diane (Don), Tony, Maureen (Curtis); grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as sisters, Marge Barrows and Lorraine (Neil) Davreux and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Laura Scharff. The Funeral Service was held at Memories Chapel on Monday, January 7, 2013. Rev. Shannon McCarthy officiated.
