PINEAU: It is with great sadness we we announce the passing of Joseph Micheal (Mike) Pineau on January 26th at his home in Deloraine. Mike was born on the east coast and often spoke of his grandmothers farm and his family there. We both looked forward to visiting PEI but now time has changed things. In 1964, Mike and his family were transferred to Shilo as his father Joe was a Srgnt Major in the Army. There he developed strong friendships and kept in touch and valued each of them until the day he passed. He was a loyal fisherman and Montreal Canadians fan. Mike had a daughter Sandra Nicole in 1972 and they lived, played, and worked in Shilo. Mike worked at Canex and was manager for three years before his job at Base Supply. In 2003 Mike and Anne Jones married and lived in Souris for five years, then purchased a retirement home in Deloraine. Mike enjoyed the small things and enjoyed meeting new people. He was a great jokester everywhere he went but especially with the boys at “church”. Left to remember is his wife Anne, daughter Sandra (Jason) O’Neill granddaughter Brooke, Anne’s children Dan, Melissa, Sandra and Victoria and grandsons Bastian and Micah. Brother John Pineau (Tammie) of Regina, SK and Frank Pineau (Pat) of High River, AB, his sister Kim Pineau of Brandon, MB and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Joe, mother Kay, and his sister Karen. Donations in memory of Mike may be made to a charity of own choice. Smith Funeral Home, 204-747-2088. www.wheatlandfs.com
