TSCHETTER: Jeannine Tschetter. Jeannine was the second of eight children born to Joe and Gertie Watson of Killarney. After completing her schooling, Jeannine took training to be a Nurse’s Aid at Killarney Hospital. She won the hearts of all her patients with her caring and efficient manner. It was during this time when she met her future husband George Tschcetter. Following their marriage, they moved to a farm north of Holmfield. Jeannine channelled all her energies into becoming a home maintenance engineer. Her talent for baking, cooking and cleaning was a force to be reckoned with. Many a family member enjoyed her fresh baked bread and buns. She loved the physical part of farming and could match her husband chore for chore. Another of Jeannine`s dreams were realized when she became a mother to three sons Ron, Barry and Blake. When George bought a tent trailer, they would spend their leisure time camping with the boys. One of her most favourite trips was when they travelled through the Rockies on their way to Vancouver. It was the first time she had seen the majesty of the mountains and she was enthralled with the adventure. Jeannine had a devout faith and spent numerous hours volunteering and helping with church programs. It was that faith that she drew on when she lost her first-born son, Ron, in a tragic farm accident. Years later Jeannine re-entered the workforce and was employed to work with special needs adults in Boissevain. She derived a lot of pleasure from that job. She loved the clients and they loved her. In later years, Jeannine battled with health issues, the main one being Diabetes. It took toll on her kidneys and she was forced to go on dialysis. That led to her and George leaving the farm to move to Brandon so she could receive her treatments. Many times she was at death’s door but her faith and her indomitable spirit pulled her through. When she lost her second son Barry to cancer last year, she was devastated. She drew immense comfort from the declaration of faith that Barry made several months before he passed. He told her he would be seeing his big brother soon and he has. With Jeannine’s passing, there will be rejoicing in Heaven as she reunites with her two sons. Left to mourn her passing is her husband of 57 years, George and her youngest son Blake. Also her siblings, Guille, Patricia, Blake, Vic, Ron, Bette and their families. She is predeceased by her parents, her two sons, a nephew and her youngest brother Jack. Our loss, Heaven’s gain.Wheatland Funeral Service entrusted with arrangements.
