STEPHENSON: It is with great sadness we announce the death of Cecil Victor Stephenson at the Bayside Personal Care Home on February 6th, 2013, the last surviving member of his family. Cecil was born to Russell and Belle (nee Currie) on February 27, 1921 on the Stephenson family farm in the RM of Strathcona NE 22-4-15. He farmed all of his life except for a short time while serving the Royal Canadian Artillery during World War II. Next to his family, farming was his greatest love. He continued to help his sons on the farm during seeding and harvest until his 80th birthday. Cecil was predeceased by one son, Morley Dean, five brothers and one sister. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 69 years, E. Gwen (nee Dalgliesh), five sons: Hugh (Bev), Dean (Barb), Don (Shelley), Robert (Jo-Anne), Tom (Kathy) and three daughters: Miriam (Ron) Nichol, Cathy (Brent) Dickey, Anne (Laurie) Laird, 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, three sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. The family wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Bayside Personal Care Home for their compassionate care. At Cecils request, a family memorial service will be held at a later date.
