FROESE: Evelyn Froese, age 77, of 3178 Vivian Line, Stratford, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at her residence. Born in Margaret, Manitoba she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Laura (Mogk) Black. Evelyn received her education in Manitoba, graduating with a degree in teaching. Her teaching career included teaching kindergarten to grade six, in Manitoba. She was an avid historian, and was a Gold medalist in the Shilo, Manitoba Army Base sharpshooting championship. She was married to John Froese August 30, 1958 in Margaret, Manitoba. She had a love for the sport of curling, and had an opportunity to compete in the Ontario Tankard. Evelyn and John farmed for many years in North Easthope Township. Dear mother of Carol Froese and husband John Riley of Toronto, Elizabeth Bridgman of Windsor and Robert Froese and wife Shannon of Michigan. She was a beloved grandmother to Sonia, Jordan, Darwin and Orion. Evelyn was a great- grandmother to Chance and Dallas. Evelyn is survived by sister Myrna and husband Ferguson Hall of Manitoba. She was predeceased by son-in-law Jim Bouchat. The funeral service will be held at the James A. Rutherford Funeral Home, 156 Albert St., Stratford on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 1p.m. Rev. Nancy Mann will officiate. The family would like to express its gratitude to the Victorian Order of Nurses.
