NYKOLIATION: Jerry Nykoliation of Brandon passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the Assiniboine Centre at the age of 77. Jerry was born November 20, 1935 at the Shoal Lake Hospital. He lived with his family in the Seech area until 1948 when their house burned down and then they relocated to the Kelloe area. Jerry married Jeanette Franko in 1977 and then in 1979 they were blessed with a son Jeffrey. Jerry enjoyed farming and curling in his earlier years. There was always a holiday every year to different destinations in Canada and the United States, which also included a cruise to the Mexican Riviera in 2005. Jerry retired from farming in 2003 and then in 2007 moved to Brandon. Jerry was predeceased by his parents John and Sophie and niece Beverley Lecuyer. He is survived by his wife Jeanette; son Jeffrey; sisters Lesia (Leonard) Michalchuk and Helen (Percy) Ewanation both of Winnipeg. The family would like to thank the staff at CGP and 3A and a special thank you to his nurse Mike. The funeral service will take place at Memories Chapel, 330 18th Street North, Brandon on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Very Rev. Fr. Michael Skrumeda will officiate. Pallbearers are Dennis Franko, Paul Sorochynski, John Malchuk, Dallas Malchuk, Randy Kozak and Brian Nykoliation. Interment will follow at the Brandon Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Jerry may be made to the Manitoba Neurofibromatosis Support Group, Box 2025, Minnedosa, Manitoba R0J 1E0.
