TAYLOR: Birdeen Mae (nee Tuffnell) passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Birdie was born near Arcola, Saskatchewan on August 8, 1924 to William and Florence Tuffnell. They had ten children and Birdeen was the last surviving sibling. She moved to Brandon when she was seventeen and met her husband William George Taylor, just before he went into World War II. They were married in 1944. Bill and Birdie resided in the East End for about 45 years and had two children, Carol and Glen. Birdeen was predeceased by Glen in 1963 and Bill in 1997. Birdie stayed in her home for five years and then moved into Lions Manor for three years. When her health was failing, she moved into Fairview Home at the age of 80 years. She received wonderful care from the staff and was close to a lot of them over the years. Birdeen leaves her daughter Carol (Scott) Collingwood from Edmonton; granddaughter Sharon (Mike) and Joshua Vogiatzakis from Winnipeg; grandson Kris (Amber) and Jenay Lauren and Valley Ray also from Winnipeg. A private family service will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Birdie may be made to Fairview Home - guest suite, 1351 13th Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 4S6, with many thanks, from Birdie and Carol. Special thanks to Shirley Nichol, who did so much for mom over the years. Also thanks to Lloyd and Maureen Mallard, Beth Imlach, Betty Sokland, Gwenn Eggelton, Valerie and Debbie Tuffnell, Marlene Smart, Joan Lapointe, Peggy Jimas, Roz, Joanne Lilley, and Paul her sweet minister from St. Andrews Church, but now resides in Ontario. Your cards, visits, phone calls and care made a big difference in moms life. Mom had a great sense of humor, a kind heart and loved people to visit and share whatever she had with you. Good-bye Mom.
