DUNCAN: Delbert “Del” Reid It is with great sadness that the family of Delbert “Del” Reid Duncan announces his sudden passing in Carberry, on Wednesday, February 20, 2013. Born March 3, 1944 in Reston, Del was the eldest son of Claude and Margaret “Iva” Duncan. He worked for the Bank of Montreal for 22 years in numerous locations before he met and married Darlene Bailey on June 2, 1979. They lived in Thunder Bay, Thompson, Morden and Carberry where he began his long career with Westoba Credit Union. He was a member and a volunteer with community organizations. He enjoyed curling, golfing and traveling. Del was predeceased by his parents Claude Duncan in 1978 and Iva Duncan in 2005. He is survived by his loving wife Darlene; his daughters Sarah and Erin Duncan. He also leaves behind two brothers Duane (Doris) Duncan, Glen (Tracey) Duncan; sister Laura (Roy) Osterbeck; sister-in-law Lorrie (Colin) Snelgrove; nephews Sean Duncan, Stacey (Melissa) Duncan, Ian (Deanna) Osterbeck, and Michael Duncan; nieces Janet Osterbeck, Nancy (Rick) Burns, Cathy Snelgrove, and Penny (Iain) Riffel as well as great nephews and nieces. The Memorial Service to celebrate Del’s life was held at Carberry United Church on Tuesday, February 26. A private family interment was held prior to the service. Rev. Minho Yoo officiated and Cathy Snelgrove gave the eulogy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, Prostate Cancer Canada or a charity of choice.
