WILLIAMSON: Audrey Perrin (Wilken) formerly of the Roseland District, wife of the late Jim Williamson, passed away peacefully at Fairview Home on March 22, 2013 at the age of 74. Audrey was born on May 12, 1938 to Alfred and Ruth Wilken in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan. Audrey had two brothers, Cyril and Roger and one sister, Della. Audrey married Jim Williamson, a farmer from the Roseland, MB District on July 19, 1958. They met on the curling ice and curling became a life-long passion they shared for many years. Jim and Audrey were married 48 years and had four daughters, Deb, Kim, Sheri and Wenda and five grandchildren, Dallas, Darcy, Corey, Brittany and Chelsea. Jim and Audrey farmed the Williamson homestead, a century farm, for over 40 years. Audrey always had a fondness for animals and had pets all her life including a goat during childhood to cats, dogs and horses throughout her adult life. Audrey was a talented artist and enjoyed gardening and the outdoors. Audrey grew up involved in many sports and became an exceptional fastball player and a very competitive curler. Audrey was a well-known curler in the Westman area and won many Bonspiels and local championships. Jim and Audrey were two of the first in the province to receive a Curl Canada Instructors certificate and together they taught curling at many different venues including local high schools. They volunteered at numerous curling events over the years. Audrey and her team won the Manitoba Provincial Ladies Curling Championship in 1972 and represented the province in the Canadian Championship where they placed second. Audrey also enjoyed golfing in the summer. Jim and Audrey had many fun times with family and friends at their cottage at Oak Lake Beach for over 30 years. Jim and Audrey were fortunate to celebrate their 25th Anniversary in Hawaii and their 30th Anniversary in Las Vegas. Together they enjoyed many fun times. Their five grandchildren were very special to them. Grandma and Grandpa were always interested in what they were up to and how they were doing. Audrey leaves to mourn her daughters, Deb Williamson; Kim James and husband Bob, son Dallas and his partner Ashley; Sheri DeGagne and partner Ed Gilbert and Sheris sons Darcy and Corey and step- daughter Genevieve; Wenda Aube and husband Lorne, their daughters Brittany and Chelsea as well as their extended family of Lornes daughters Amber Aube, partner Cory Taylor and children Layne, Rylan, Payge, Pyper, and Ryder; daughter Courtney Aube and partner Steve Whitmore and children Todd and Darian, daughter Lyndsey Klassen and husband Kevin and children Deklan and Cole. Sister in Law, Estelle Brown, Brothers in Law, Clarence (CK) Williamson and Art (Marie) Williamson and Reg Anslow as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Audrey was predeceased by her loving husband Jim Williamson, parents Ruth and Alfred Wilken, brothers Cyril and Roger Wilken and sister Della Anslow as well as many brothers in law and sisters in law. Funeral Service was held at Brockie Donovan on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, with Jamie Berry officiating. Internment will take place at a later date in the Roseland Cemetery. Daughters Kim James and Sheri DeGagne shared memories of their mother on behalf of her four daughters. Active Urn Bearers were grandsons Dallas James and Darcy DeGagne. Audrey was diagnosed with Alzheimers disease at the age of 65 and entered personal care at 67 years. The family wishes to express their sincere thank you to the 5th Floor staff at Fairview Home.
