MAYBERRY: Olive Mayberry, beloved wife of the Late Sam Mayberry, passed away at the Reston Health Centre on Sunday; March 31, 2013, just two days before her 90th birthday. Olive was born on April 2, 1923 at Wapella, Saskatchewan to Asa and Letitia (Johnston) Edwards. She got her education at a country school near Wapella, then left home at the age of 16 to make her own living. Olive worked at several jobs over the years, at Moosomin, Regina, Leamington, Ontario, Virden and lastly at her hometown Post Office. She married Sam Mayberry on July 25th, 1966 and they lived on the Mayberry farm in the Pipestone area until 1976 when they moved into their home in Reston. Olive was very proud of her home and took great care in her homemaking and caring for what she had. She enjoyed playing golf, visiting friends and going for drives in the countryside. She was a good friend to all her family and enjoyed visiting them whenever she could. Olive was predeceased by her parents, her husband Sam, six sisters and four brothers, two nephews and two nieces. She leaves to mourn two brothers, Bill (Evelyn) of Bassano, Alberta and Clarence (Joyce) of Montreal as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday; April 8 at 2:00 p.m. in Reston United Church with Reverend Dwight Rutherford officiating. Interment will be in Reston Cemetery.
